About JICRIT

A unified, trusted platform for commercial audio

JICRIT (Joint Industry Commercial Radio IT) is the organisation responsible for enabling the UK commercial radio industry to trade airtime in a secure, accountable, and standardised way. It was formed in 1998 with the mission of overseeing the development of a state-of-the-art web-based trading system that would modernise and streamline commercial radio buying and selling.

This system became J-ET (JICRIT Electronic Trading), which launched in 2002 and remains the industry's central trading platform.

Today, J-ET is used to manage briefs, proposals, orders, and post-campaign analysis in one integrated environment across both linear and digital audio. It handles over 98% of national radio sales, has processed billions of pounds of airtime, and continues to welcome hundreds of new client/brand combinations each year.

JICRIT maintains a strong focus on security, transparency, and accountability across all parties involved in radio trading.

Purpose

Why JICRIT exists

JICRIT exists to ensure that the commercial audio industry operates with integrity and efficiency at every step of the trading process.

  1. A unified, trusted trading platform

J-ET centralises a previously fragmented process into a single workflow used by agencies, sales points, and stations.

  2. Secure and compliant data exchange

Different parties view the same information through role-specific interfaces, ensuring security, consistency and accuracy.

  3. Accountability and industry-standard governance

J-ET provides full auditability across briefs, proposals, orders, and post-campaign reporting.

  4. Innovation and continual development

JICRIT has expanded beyond J-ET to include Revelation, Copy+, and the SGP Code Publisher — continually improving the tools available to the industry.
